How we source our data

Last updated: Sep 25, 2022

We Present a fully up to date list of organisations which are licensed to offer Work and Temporary Work sponsorship. We source our data based on a document published on GOV.UK. GOV.UK is United Kingdom's public sector information website, created by Government Digital Service to provide a single point of access to Government services.

First published on November 2013, this document has been frequently getting updates, removing organisations that have lost their license to sponsor, and adding new organisations that have obtained their license.

What problem do we solve?

The document published by GOV.UK is a CSV file that you have to download and browse through. It is not easily accessible especially on mobile devices, nor it is searchable. We continuously check for the latest version of this document and update our website almost immediately.

On top of that, by comparing various versions of the document published over the time, we are able to identify those organisations which used to have a license to sponsor, but now have lost it. Similarly, we are able to construct a timeline of changes in an organisations license history. For example, find out if and when their license has been downgraded.

Rich data on SponsorIntel

As mentioned before, the document published by GOV.UK is a CSV file which contains little to no information about the organisation itself. On SponsorIntel, you are able to search organisations by location or address and view them on a map. We are also working to ensure you can find organisations based on the industry the operate.
